FED:Swan backs away from health reforms
CANBERRA, Feb 7 AAP - Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan is refusing to say if the federal
government remains committed to a reform plan that aims to make it the major funder of
Australia's public hospitals.
The government appears to be backing away from the plan, agreed to by the commonwealth
and all state and territory governments bar Western Australia in 2010, when Kevin Rudd
was prime minister.
A change of government in Victoria and a likely change in NSW at a state election on
