NSW: Police appeal for carols videos to identify sexual attacker

SYDNEY, Dec 11 AAP - A six-year-old boy sexually assaulted at a carols by candlelightconcert in Sydney has given a crucial description of his attacker, police said today.

The youngster went to Carols by Candlelight at Mount Annan Botanical Gardens with hismother last Friday.

At about 8.30pm (AEDT), he was was grabbed by a man and pulled into bushes where hewas sexually assaulted, a police spokeswoman said.

The boy described his assailant as a balding, Caucasian man, who was wearing shortsand a short sleeved shirt, the spokeswoman said.

But the child - who needed medical treatment after the attack - was unable to say howold the man was.

Police are asking all those who attended the carols concert and who may have shot homevideos to turn them into police in the hope the man can be identified.

Detective Chief Inspector Robert Sullivan was due to hold a press conference at NSWPolice Headquarters in Darlinghurst at 10am (AEDT) today.
